Keisha M Napper MLT e-Portfolio

My name is Keisha M Napper, and I am currently enrolled at the College of Southern Maryland in La Plata. In May of 2015 I will receive my A.A.S degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, after which I plan to sit for certification testing through the Board of Certification and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. During the course of my schooling, I have taken every opportunity to discuss the profession and how clinical science is an integral part of patient healthcare, with many of the medical technicians and clinical scientist that I work with, in hopes that I can also provide dedicated and quality care for the patients in my community.
Always having a love of science, I graduated from the University program at Parkdale High School in Riverdale, Maryland in 1998, where I obtained a diploma focusing on Science and Technology. In 1999, I then enrolled at Applied Career Training in Arlington, Virginia, where I received my training in Medical Assistance, learning such skills as laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, and patient care. From there I continued my education at Prince George's Community College in Largo, Maryland and received her A.A. degree in general studies in 2012 focusing predominately on biological science courses.   My love of clinical science was fostered while working as laboratory assistant for a multi-practice doctors office that had an on-site laboratory that did CLIA waived point of care testing as a service provided to the patients that were unable to travel to off site laboratories. Having worked in this capacity would lead to further opportunity to become more involved in the laboratory, allowing me to gain employment at Kaiser Permanente were I have worked for the last eleven years.
I have always been dedicated and hardworking when achieving a set goal. Never letting obstacles hinder my progress, I will always keep pushing ahead and running towards the finish line. My drive, positive attitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to help others, will make me an asset to any clinical laboratory team.
The following pages of this e-Portfolio will display the various projects that were part of the MLT course curriculum and how they adhere to the program outcomes.

  1. Hey Keisha, I like your profile. I would like to bring one thing to your attention is the use of personal pronoun in your introduction. Your introduction is in third person, it seems that somebody else is describing your personality, interests, and achievement. I think it would be much better if you change it in first person.

  2. Hi Kesha,

I really like your eportfolio. I viewed your resume. I am very impressed with your education, skills, and job experiences. Your job skills and motivation are commendable. However, the only critique that i can say about your eportfolio is that the font size and the gray color on your introduction page is too small and seems compact that it is difficult for me to read it. Other than that, you did a fantastic job. Also, I like your provocative picture!
